Michael Young

Michael Young, Associate Artistic Producer for Making Face Theatre, is an actor, writer, musician and arts educator. Michael recently graduated from The London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art (LAMDA), out of the Classical Acting post-graduate program. Prior to this, Michael received a BFA with Honours in Music at York University, as a jazz vocalist, and spent a year at Ryerson’s Theatre School. At LAMDA, Michael had the opportunity to work with several professional London-based directors, performing roles that include Mirabel in The Way of the World, Benedick in Much Ado About Nothing and Henry VI in Henry VI (Parts 1, 2 & 3).

Michael has also acted in two collaboratively developed Fringe of Toronto Theatre Festival shows with Open Call Theatre. More recently, Michael acted in 12 Secs, a short piece written and directed by David Oiye as part of The Rhubarb Festival. Michael has also just finished filming two independent short films: Somebody is Watching Us and The Twilight Express, the latter to be aired on the Bravo network. In August, Michael performed in Skye Gilbert’s The Shakespeare Experiment at Buddies in Bad Times Theatre, under the direction of Moynan King. Michael is also a singer/songwriter in a two-piece electro-acoustic band, Love London, currently completing their debut album.
