Caitlin Brubacher

Caitlin Brubacher, founder and Artistic Director of Making Face Theatre, is a director, playwright, actor and arts educator. Last summer, Caitlin directed and produced Making Face Theatre’s inaugural production, Miss Marker, an original one-act written by herself and Catherine Montgomery as part of the SummerWorks Theatre Festival.

Caitlin's directing credits include Shelagh Stephenson's The Memory of Water, David Ives' Foreplay, or the Art of the Fugue; and her own work, The Stagehand's Platform, a play dealing with issues of exclusion in academia and gender politics. She has acted in and co-produced Sean Reycraft's One Good Marriage in Montreal, using different venues to highlight the theme of community in the play. More recently, she acted in, wrote and directed, Play Me a Friday Night in collaboration with Seventh Stage Productions, and Whale Riders at the Tarragon Theatre.

As a graduate of Concordia's Creative Writing and English Literature Joint Honours Program, she received several awards for her scholarly and creative writing and graduated with the Medal for English. Currently, Caitlin is publishing four graphic novels for Rubicon Publishing’s BOLDPRINT series, two of which were written with co-writer Michael Young.
